故事發(fā)生在美國西部大開發(fā)時期，燕西（理查德·迪克斯 Richard Dix 飾）帶著妻子莎布拉（艾琳·鄧恩 Irene Dunne 飾）千里昭昭來到了廣袤而又荒蕪的俄克納馬拉，心里懷揣著遠大的理想，希望能夠在這里做出一番建樹。俄克納馬拉的生活環(huán)境十分艱苦和險峻，然而，夫妻兩人同心協(xié)力，慢慢改善和建立著他們的家園。在日子漸漸穩(wěn)定的過程中，在當?shù)厣畹哪翀鲋鱾兏械剿麄兊睦媸艿搅饲址福麄兂３已辔鞯穆闊瑓s又被燕西用智慧巧妙的化解。燕西十分同情在當?shù)厣畹挠〉诎餐林c此同時，嫉惡如仇的燕西亦對壓迫和剝削原住民的資本家們充滿了仇恨，隨著時間的推移，雙方的矛盾漸漸尖銳起來。

 腦子缺根弦兒的九能帶刀（鈴置洋孝 飾）路過邪馬臺古董店，在店內(nèi)看到了極為珍貴的鳳凰蛋。傳說只要擁有這枚蛋，便可領(lǐng)會到威力無比的魔劍鳳凰劍。為了打敗宿敵亂馬（山口勝平 飾），成為至高無上的強者，九能強買下鳳凰蛋。不過店主（北村弘一 飾）叮囑，無論如何千萬不能將蛋放在頭頂，否則將由可怕的事情發(fā)生。不幸的是，亂馬無意中將蛋放在了九能的頭上，一只長相奇怪的鳥兒誕生了。它幫助九能成為足以打敗任何對手的強者。爭強好勝的亂馬無論如何都要挽回面子……本片根據(jù)高橋留美子的漫畫《亂馬1/2》改編，系該動畫的劇場版第3部。
